Studio Output II

I came across Studio Output again and had more time to spend browsing their site this time. I'm glad I did, as I found some amazing 3D type set ups which visually summed up the aim of the retail type brief. The first project below, Genres, shows a variety of different media used to build up this design and although I want to focus on type more than imagery, the design has been created and then applied to printed resolutions for the Ministry of Sound to advertise their quarterly Saturday Sessions radio shows.

These are my favourite designs created for HMV campaigns for mother's day and the summer:

'HMV asked us to devise an overarching campaign that would run in-store throughout the summer with the specific challenge of promoting a wide entertainment offer at a notoriously difficult period of the retail calendar. Capturing the spirit of summer, we created the concept of summerfest with a stage set that houses various musical kit and promotional items in a festival environment, including a branded HMV tent. Using bold 3D typography we designed iconic headlines, spelling out the key messages. Interchanging the set kits for each promotion allowed us to create a series of six offers that could stand alone or work together under one summery banner. The resulting campaign is used in-store, on posters and point-of-sale nationwide.'

'We were asked by HMV to look at their seasonal in-store campaign for Mother's Day - traditionally one of their hardest looks to crack. The finished campaign creative echoes home life, relaxation and quality time through carefully selected fabrics and colour schemes.'
